I share with you this wonderful video this week by the Bristol based Directors Karni and Saul, whose work I love. This video is beautifully creative and its lyrics are too. YOU should have a perfect world!
What it requires is your motivation to create it for yourself, as we know that the reality of life is that nothing is perfect and yet it is all perfect. The great contradictions interplay.
I am back teaching this week, thanks for the wonderful cover teachers that took my classes last week and I hope all my students embraced the change.
This week, we will use our asana in class to create a liquid Flow that helps in dynamic transitions, quite literally and spiritually. We will open the hips and the mind, to build core strength in more ways than one. The movement we create applies both on and off the mat as we work to initiate direction in changes and absorb ourselves in the circular flows that naturally occur when making these transitions. Change means staying on your toes and taking time to dance with the breath, both energising you and helping you to embody the turning movements of life. The asana will help to boost circulation and be warming and supportive, as you learn to face yourself and your fears and your potential, to become more open to the possibiltles right before you and end ready to embrace it all!
See you in class...

P.s. This is me above in South Africa back around 2007, doing yoga on the beach and I remember being a a wonderfully powerful place of transition. I found this little flow below that reminded me of moving on the beach back then. Its quite sexy with its flesh on show, I know, but if you can look past that and focus on the beauty of our bodies, as they move in correlation with our natural state and inner stability and the control of movement, you can observe the wonderful power of yoga in transformation. (We won't be attempting these advanced moves, but enjoy the water element that feels very present and necessary in nature as we move in Winter towards Spring.
