So as I walked my silver 'Pumps' along the streets of London in the rain, a homeless woman called out to me to give her some money. I had my headphones on at the time, listening to some beats to travel me along the strand, but I knew what she wanted, as she made a wonderful gesture with her hands. I kept on walking for 1 minute and then I found myself turn around, reach for my purse, walk back and offer her my only one pound coin. I hardly ever give money to beggars, but this time I looked at her and just thought 'wow! - you are a young-ish woman, sitting in the rain, on the streets of london, begging! How did you get there? whats your story? what are your gifts? (as she will have loads, of course), is this a choice?' So many questions.... but, I thought for that brief second, that whether she spends it on drugs, a homeless shelter, a kebab!!!!!$£$%^&*%$£% - its a choice she has and if I can somehow contribute to her meeting her needs, in that moment, whatever they are, I'm going to this time.
As essentially, it's good to be supported!!!!!
To be able to meet your needs by someone offering you help, that without that support you just wouldn't, is something that we cant underestimate how good that feels. As how often do we get the support that we need? Do we push it away when it's on offer? Do we ask for it? It's bold to beg, but these guys are asking for help.
This week, I invite you to challenge yourself in asking for help when you need it, but to also observe those people that just offer it out without being asked. Those are the greatest people in your life, so lets give gratitude by simply holding them in our hearts. Maybe you are able to be one of those 'greatest' people yourself. Communication is one of lifes greatest gifts that we hold, so do it well. With honesty. It starts with truth and communication with the self and what you give in this lifetime will remain forever a part of its evolution...
“I am forever walking upon these shores,
Betwixt the sand and the foam,
The high tide will erase my foot prints,
And the wind will blow away the foam,
But the sea and the shore will remain forever.”
Big love to you all,
